Dua Lipa is an English artist/singer born in London United Kingdom on August 22nd, 1995. Her debut self-titled album debuted in 2017 after she had signed with Warner Bros Records. It climbed to the third spot in the U.K. Chart for Albums. Eight singles were released, among them Be The Only I.D.G.A.F. as well as New Rules (UK number one). It also peaked at number 6 on the charts in the United States. Lipa was awarded the Brit Awards for British female solo artist as well as British breakout act in the year 2018. Dua Lipa was born August 22, 1995, in London in the UK to Kosovo Albanian Anesa Rexha, and Dukagjin Lipa. Her maternal grandmother is Bosnian. There is also a trace of Lipa's ancestral roots to Peja in Kosovo. Her grandfathers were both historians. Lipa is the younger sister of Rina Lipa and a younger brother named Gjin. The musical influence of Lipa's came from her father who is the singer-guitarist of the Kosovan the rock group Oda. The band was heavily influenced by their father's music, which included his original compositions, as well as songs such David Bowie Bob Dylan Radiohead Stereophonics Stereophonics. Lipa was barely five when she started singing. The Sylvia Young Theater School was where she started singing as she was nine years old. Lipa sang If I'm Not Gotta You By Alicia Keys and Beautiful by Christina Aguilera to be uploaded on YouTube. Lipa was offered a recording contract from Warner Bros. Records in 2014. New Love, Lipa's debut single, was released in August 2015.
