Simone Biles

Simone Biles was an American gymnast who was born on March 14, 1997 in the city of Columbus, Ohio. She is considered by many to be one of the greatest gymnasts. Biles was the very first female gymnast from America to ever win four gold medals in a single Games. In Rio de Janeiro, she also became the first woman to win consecutive World All-Around titles. Biles was raised in Spring Texas in the Houston metropolitan area following the time she and her sister Adria received adoption by parents Ronald and Nellie Biles. Simone first became interested in the sport of gymnastics when she was just 6. Coach Aimee Borman brought her to Bannon's Gymnastix which was where they went on an outing. Biles, who won gold and bronze medals at the Women's Junior Olympic National Championships 2010 in vault and floor exercise before her debut in 2011 at the top section of gymnastics competition. A year later Biles had a dominating performance in the sport. Biles was notable because of her unstoppable performance enthusiasm and level of effort she introduced throughout each competition--vault, uneven bars as well as balance beams and ground exercise.
