Niykee is a song writer and songwriter who, even with her whirlwind career has maintained her routine. Some of her personal highlights been being selected by Snoop dogg to be his sidekick during the YouTube Brandcast event in May 2013. She is a constant magnet for producers who are just getting started. A lot of tracks she gets are a source of song ideas. She states that she can determine if the beat is good in just 5 seconds. And then, a brand new song may pop up in her head. I sit on my back porch with my guitar, and then the lyrics just come and usually it's completed in less than thirty minutes. Niykee keeps working on her skills as a poet and lyricist. She explains how the trauma she endured through the years can be a source of unusual ideas. "Even in the absence of writing about my personal life the grief of losing my sister as well as my difficult childhood experiences are integrated into my music," she says. The music I write is inspired by my experiences and I can see the bigger picture beneath every single thing. It's among the things that is most crucial for me.
